To be eligible for the PMP you must meet one of the following conditions for education and experience:
  • Secondary degree (high school diploma, associate’s degree or the global equivalent)
  • 7,500 hours leading and directing projects
  • 35 hours of project management education

OR

  • Four-year degree
  • 4,500 hours leading and directing projects
  • 35 hours of project management education
  • Computer-based Testing (CBT) and paper-based Testing (PBT)
  • Exam time: 4 hours.
  • Exam length: 180 multiple-choice questions
  • Language: English
  • Testing for the PMP is available year-round, subject to availability at the Prometric testing center of your choice.

  • Your PMP certification is valid for three years after testing. To maintain your PMP credential, you must earn 60 Professional Development Units (PDUs) from PMI over a three-year time span or retake the exam.
